Tony sang on the street corners and subway stations of Brooklyn, N.Y. during the late fifties. He started singing professionally in 1978 as the lead vocalist/front man of the wedding and lounge band Starfire. In the 80’s and 90’s, he was part of a duo, performing in restaurants and cafes accompanied by a keyboardist or guitarist.

In 1999,Tony joined the doowop acapella group, Back In Time, as second tenor/lead. With this group, he took part in Oldies concerts at the Meadowlands, the Patchogue Theatre, Molloy College, U.G.H.A. With Back In Time, Tony performed on The Doowop Shop with Don K. Reed and the Mickey B. Show singing songs from their CD “The Story Of Doowop.”

From 2003 through 2007, he sang with the group SounTrac doing concerts, restaurants, and Saturday nights at the Jones Beach Bandshell. Tony can be heard on SounTrac’s CD, “Long Island Harmony” on Collectables Records at Oldies.com.

Presently, he does a solo act at restaurants such as “Carmela’s” in Franklin Square, N.Y.,“Antonette’s” in Bellmore, N.Y., and “LaFocaccia” in Levittown, N.Y. Tony has recorded two CD’s, “Smooth”, and “A Taste Of Brandy”. You can hear sound bites from these CD’s at his website, tonydibetta.com. Tony’s repertoire includes standards, rock, doowop, disco, and Italian. He is available for restaurants and private parties.
